Specialty Heart Care – Just for Women
At Piedmont Heart Institute, our heart and vascular specialists help women first take care of themselves so they can stay healthier for all that life has to offer. Women tend to take care of others first, but we’re here to help you learn how to take control of your life with a more proactive approach. We offer a heart risk screening program so women can learn about any issues affecting long-term heart health. We also help teach women how to take a positive approach to improving their individual risk factors.
Our Mission
Empower women with or at risk for cardiovascular disease to lead healthier, longer lives by offering a supportive environment to connect with others and access exceptional holistic cardiovascular care attuned to their unique needs.
Our Approach
We take a three-pronged approach to reducing heart disease:
- Customized screening to identify risks
- Best practice medical care to treat acute disease
- Holistic wellness education and support to improve the quality of life
We take a proactive approach to long-term heart health and wellness. Our screening program provides an assessment for women without heart disease symptoms, also called asymptomatic, to identify cardiac risk factors which may result in the earlier identification of coronary artery disease. This allows us to start these women on an appropriate medical and lifestyle modification regimen much earlier to improve long-term outcomes. Our physician team works with patients for a step-by-step process for success.
In response to our patient requests, we have also introduced a new program for women with recent heart attacks to improve education and support about the disease process and risk factors.
