Cardio-Obstetrics Program
Piedmont has introduced a multidisciplinary cardio-obstetrics program to support women who would benefit from specialized cardiac care before, during, and after pregnancy.
This patient population includes women who have:
- Pre-existing heart conditions
- Cardiovascular risk factors
- Prior cardiac interventions
- A history of adverse pregnancy outcomes such as hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or peripartum cardiomyopathy.
Our team of women’s heart cardiologists partner with maternal-fetal medicine specialists, OB-GYNs, and anesthesiologists to develop an optimized care plan for patients.
Comprehensive care through this program includes:
- Risk assessment and diagnostic evaluations
- Access to advanced imaging modalities
- Increased monitoring and education
- Ongoing management of cardiovascular conditions.
Our Women’s Heart program is dedicated to providing specialized, comprehensive cardiovascular care for women. Piedmont’s cardio-obstetrics program is dedicated to help reduce maternal mortality and to improve outcomes for pregnant women.
