Piedmont Prompt Care is here for when you and your family need treatment for urgent health care needs. Prompt Care is a walk-in facility with no appointment necessary, but the ability to book ahead online. You may see a board-certified Prompt Care physician, a physician’s assistant or a nurse practitioner.

When to go to the ER:
- Any life- or limb-threatening event
- Dislocated joints
- Heavy, uncontrolled bleeding
- Convulsions, seizures or loss of consciousness
- Deep knife wounds or gunshot wounds
- Severe burns
- Poisoning or overdose
- Pregnancy-related problems
- Severe abdominal pain
- Signs of a heart attack: chest pain lasting longer than 2 minutes
- Signs of a stroke: loss of vision, sudden numbness, weakness, slurred speech or confusion
When to go to Prompt Care/Urgent Care:
- Accidents and falls
- Sprains and strains
- Minor back pain
- Mild to moderate asthma
- Bleeding cuts that may or may not need stitches
- Injuries/illnesses that may require X-rays or lab tests
- Eye/ear irritation
- Fever, cold, flu
- Vomiting, diarrhea
- Sore throat and/or cough
- Broken bones and fractures
- Testing and vaccinations
