Nutrition Services
Nutrition counseling is available throughout the Piedmont system. Some facilities offer virtual sessions in addition to in-person. Your visit would consist of a comprehensive, one hour initial assessment with a registered dietitian/nutritionist, RDN.
The assessment includes your medical and family history as well as your lifestyle. Following, a personalized plans will be created for you.
The meal plan is designed to help you be successful with your goals- whether to maintain health or help manage or prevent chronic disease. Patients are referred to an RDN for a variety of reasons and often include:
- Diabetes, pre-diabetes
- Gestational diabetes
- Weight management/obesity
- Bariatric surgery
- Cardiovascular issues
- Food Allergies
- Gastrointestinal Diseases (Celiac, Crohn’s, IBS)
- Dining Out
- Grocery Shopping/label reading
- Pregnancy/lactation
Schedule an Appointment:
A physician order is required for any outpatient nutrition visit. Once your order is received, you will be contacted to make an appointment and insurance will be verified. Most insurance plans cover nutrition counseling but some participants may be required to cover the cost themselves. Self-pay participants receive a 70% discount.
