Columbus, Ga. (December 18, 2024) – Piedmont Columbus Regional has named Dr. Subhendu De its Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Hospital Medicine program. Dr. De joined Piedmont as a pediatric critical care intensivist in September 2024, and has played an instrumental part in the opening of the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital.
“I chose critical care because it allows me to be involved in every aspect of a patient’s care and provides the opportunity to make a more significant impact,” Dr. De says.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2014, Dr. De earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in 2018 followed by a pediatrics residency at Emory University and pediatric critical care fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. De has been involved in multiple research projects— presenting at regional and national conferences.
“Dr. De provides evidence-based medicine and aims to elevate the knowledge of his team members as they care for critically ill and injured children,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Chris Edwards. “We look forward to working with Dr. De to help grow pediatric services and build a team that values strong relationships with collaborative community pediatric providers.
