Intensive Care Unit

Having a loved one in intensive care can be scary and overwhelming. We’ve created this video to help you learn what to expect when your loved one is admitted to the ICU. Patients are admitted to the ICU when they are seriously ill, need more “intensive” care and when they need continuous monitoring right after surgery. Patients are attended to by board-certified physicians as well as advanced practice providers and nurses who have received special training to care for critically-ill patients. If you have more questions, please contact your nurse or medical provider. Communication with patients and families is one of our highest priorities.
