Why Choose Piedmont Heart Institute
Piedmont Heart Institute is a destination for cardiovascular care and a leader in advancing innovations for patients with the most challenging conditions.
Beckers Hospital Review has named us one of the top 100 Heart Programs in the nation. Our commitment to quality and the patient experience results in better outcomes and improved quality of life for our patients.
Our Bold Approach
In 2007, three groups of competing physicians approached a health system with a bold idea to co-manage cardiovascular services in order to integrate care between hospital and physician office and among specialties, invest resources on a larger scale where they could make the most difference, and align incentives to put the focus where it should be – on the patient. The birth of the Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) reshaped the healthcare landscape in Atlanta and the country, rooted in the idea that the best way to deliver care was based on:
- A fully integrated, strategically and financially aligned model
- Assembled and governed in partnership with cardiovascular physicians
- Anchored with comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services
- The commitment and dedication of Piedmont Healthcare to ensure its success
Ten years later, PHI continues to reshape the healthcare landscape with its leadership in innovation, personalized care and integrated comprehensive services. PHI has grown to over 120 physicians, over 100 advanced practice providers, 25 clinics and 22 hospitals covering a region across 140 miles north-south and east-west, as well as serving patients from around the country. What remains constant is PHI’s commitment to bringing the most advanced science and personal focus to each of our patients to ensure they receive the very best care.
