Outpatient FAQs

Intensive Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (also known as IOP for “Intensive Outpatient Program”) is a primary treatment program recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and medical assessment. IOP may be recommended for those clients in need of more clinical structure and support than can be offered in traditional outpatient work, but for whom inpatient hospitalization is not deemed to be necessary. IOP can also enable people working on their recovery to transition between inpatient and traditional outpatient care, in that it offers additional structure and support in those times when the structure of home life may not be sufficient to support recovery.

Some of the problems that may be effectively treated in mental health IOP:

  • Severe depression without acute suicidality
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Severe anxiety disorders
  • Severe obsessive-compulsive disorders

The primary advantage of IOP is that you can start rebuilding your personal life and mending your important family ties right away, because you live at home and participate in intensive outpatient treatment. Clients have the opportunity to practice and apply skills learned in therapy in the real-life settings of home and work. With the Intensive Outpatient Treatment program, you are able to establish a foundation for long-term personal growth in your local community.

For more information about starting our Intensive Outpatient Program, call and speak with an Intake Coordinator at 770-985-6486.

Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment

For individuals struggling with substance use disorders, IOP may be appropriate to treat those individuals who do not need medically supervised detox. It can also enable people in recovery to continue their recovery therapies following successful detox, on a part-time yet intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.

Start rebuilding your personal life and mending your important family ties right away, when you live at home and participate in intensive outpatient treatment. With the Intensive Outpatient Treatment program, you don’t have to wait until you return from living away in a rehab center. We help you establish a foundation for long-term recovery support in your local community right from the start of your treatment.
