Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center Visitor Information
Care Partner Policy (Updated March 15, 2023)
Piedmont Cartersville will allow two Care Partners per day for non-COVID medical, surgical and ICU patients during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- The visitors must remain the same for each 12-hour period (7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.). Visitors are allowed to switch only once in a 24-hour period.
- Visitors must be 16 years or older.
- Visitors must enter and exit through the outpatient area located at the back of the hospital during the following times: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday-use the Emergency Room entrance.
- Visitors will be screened for symptoms of acute respiratory illness in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines before entering the facility.
- Visitors with a positive screen will not be permitted to enter the facility.
- Visitors with a negative screen will receive a colored armband that must be worn for their visit that day.
Emergency Services
At Piedmont Cartersville, two Care Partners will be allowed for non-COVID Emergency Department patients. The visitor must remain the same person/persons for the duration of the visit.
Perinatal Services
Women’s Services, surgical and procedural areas will continue to permit two Care Partners per patient. Labor & Delivery patients are allowed one support person (including doulas) of the mother's choosing for the duration of the hospital stay. No substitutions are allowed.
Outpatient Testing
Surgical and procedural areas will continue to permit two Care Partners per patient.
Visitors must enter and exit the facility at the outpatient area located at the back of the hospital. The outpatient entrance is accessible between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. If you must leave the facility, please make every effort to do so between these hours. The Emergency Department entrance is accessible after 9:00 p.m.
Visitor Screening Guidelines and Requirements
All visitors will be required to:
- Wear a facemask covering their mouth and nose at all times while inside the facility.
- Perform frequent hand hygiene.
- Remain in the patient’s room at all times unless asked to wait in another designated area.
Visitors/caregivers who do not comply with the above guidelines will be asked to leave the facility.
Piedmont encourages the use of electronic devices to communicate with patients who are hospitalized. While we regret the inconvenience it may cause for some patients, safety is at the center of our organization, and we believe these steps are necessary to create the safest environment at our hospital.
