Piedmont McDuffie Visitor Information

Care Partner Policy

Your loved ones and our staff’s health and safety are our top priorities. The number of care partners allowed is subject to change depending on the patient’s care needs. Visitation with COVID-positive patients (inpatient or ED) is allowed with masking and other protective equipment as required.

Please do not visit if you have any of the following symptoms:

Fever
Cough
Runny nose
Shortness of breath
Those with a positive viral test for COVID-19
Those with symptoms of COVID-19
Those who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19

All visitors must be 13 or older, wash their hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer immediately before and after seeing patients, and must not touch their faces or patients' faces.

Piedmont McDuffie reserves the right to require N95s or other well-fitting face masks during increased community transmission of COVID-19 or other respiratory viruses.

Visitation Guidelines

Piedmont McDuffie's visiting hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
Inpatients may have four visitors at a time during regular visiting hours, and one visitor may stay overnight per patient. Overnight visitors must stay in the patient's room for the duration of their stay.
Patients having outpatient surgeries or procedures may have two visitors for the length of the outpatient visit. Visitors must be 18 or older for surgical areas.
Patients in our emergency department may have two visitors.
Patients nearing end-of-life may have four visitors at a time, and others are allowed on a case-by-case basis per the patient's clinical team.

NOTE: For patients with cognitive or communicative disabilities or issues, a support person will be allowed to accompany the patient throughout their stay, whether inpatient or outpatient, according to the qualifiers outlined by the Office for Civil Rights.

By entering the facility, EMPLOYEES and ALL PROVIDERS are indicating they have self-screened for all signs and symptoms of, and exposure to, all illnesses, including COVID-19.

Visitor Dining

A full-service cafeteria serving breakfast and lunch is available to visitors Monday through Friday.

Breakfast: 8 a.m. - 9 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

For your convenience, vending machines are outside the entrance to the dining room.

Overnight Accommodations

Nurses will make every effort to accommodate an overnight guest should the patient ask. Check with the patient's nurse for more information.

Chaplain Services

Spiritual support from a hospital chaplain is available during a patient’s stay. The chapel is located next to the first-floor waiting area and is open at all times for meditation. For more information about this service, please ask the nurse or patient care representative.
