Pulmonary Rehabilitation
What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an individualized supervised program designed for patients who experience lung problems. Pulmonary Rehabilitation includes education about your lung disease, exercise classes, nutritional and psychosocial support. Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program will teach you how to function better and participate in activities with less shortness of breath. Other benefits include increased ability to exercise, decreased symptoms of your lung disease, better management of anxiety and depression. Our team is specialized in respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, nutritional services and social services.
Patients with the following lung conditions benefit from Pulmonary Rehabilitation:
The education classes provide you with information about respiratory medications, oxygen use, nutrition, breathing retraining, symptom assessment and psychosocial support.
The exercise classes will help improve your endurance and muscle strength so you are better able to carry out your daily activities.
