Volunteer Opportunities at Piedmont Walton

Piedmont Walton has an active group of Auxiliary Volunteers, Chaplain Volunteers and College Volunteers that are a valuable part of our excellent healthcare team. They generously give their time and talents to provide assistance to patients, visitors and staff and are regularly rewarded with sincere thanks for their generous acts of kindness. If you are interested in volunteering, more details can be found below.

Healthcare Day Camp for Walton County Students

Piedmont Walton Hospital is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for its second annual Healthcare Day Camp, scheduled to take place on June 17, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This unique opportunity is open to rising juniors and senior high school students from Walton County, offering them an immersive experience into the world of healthcare.

Adult Volunteers (ages 18+ and not in college)

Because of the onboarding requirements, we require that volunteers make at least a 1-year commitment. If you are interested in volunteering with us, the first step is to complete your online application.

Once your application has been received, you will be contacted by the Auxiliary President to review volunteer requirements and opportunities. Assignments are based on openings in the volunteer schedule, skills and interests of the applicant. Requirements include a background check, proof of immunization for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, a tuberculosis screening and hospital orientation. Long-term volunteers will be required to attend an annual training session to remain informed and compliant with hospital policy and procedures.

Volunteer opportunities are available five days a week with some service areas available seven days a week, nights and weekends. We are currently accepting adult volunteer applications. Please print and complete the following application.

Please note: The Auxiliary is not an internship program, nor is it a means to obtain a job within the hospital. We view volunteering as a long-term commitment and seek individuals who will serve for years to come. The Auxiliary does not place community service volunteers.

College Volunteers

The College Volunteer Program will not be accepting new applications for the Summer 2025 Semester. Please check back here for updates on the Fall Semester.

Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Volunteers

The Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Program is separate from Piedmont Walton’s Auxiliary / Volunteer Program. Chaplaincy and spiritual care are available at Piedmont Walton for people of all faiths and to those with no religious affiliation. Volunteer chaplains serve as members of the healthcare team working closely with nurses, physicians, social workers and others. Chaplaincy services include emergency and referral-based spiritual care for patients, their families, and hospital staff.

All of our chaplains serve the hospital on an on-call basis.

Once an application is completed, requirements include an interview and orientation, as well as a background check, tuberculosis screening, and proof of immunizations.
