Perinatal Outreach Program
In 1972, the Department of Public Health divided the state of Georgia into six (6) regions. Each region was assigned a Regional Perinatal Center (RPC) to provide high-risk care for both mothers and babies and to support the other hospitals in the region. Piedmont Columbus Regional – Midtown is the RPC for West Central Georgia. We consider it a privilege to be your Regional Perinatal Center and we would like to take some of the financial burden off your family. With funds provided by the Department of Community and Public Health, our program can help with you and your babies hospital bill.
Maternal Benefit Assistance
If a patient in one of the regions other hospitals require a higher level of care, our two (2) Maternal-Fetal Medicine Perinatologists accept the patient and provide the care they need. If a baby is expected to need care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after birth, we will transport the mother prior to delivery, so we can keep mom and baby together.
