GME Program Application Requirements 

We appreciate your interest in the Residency Programs at Piedmont Macon. Our programs participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) and only accepts applications through the AAMC Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Candidates selected for an interview will be notified by email. Additional information including an interview day itinerary will be provided. Additional information including an interview day itinerary will be provided. Interviews for the 2024 2025 season will be held virtually.

Below are the requirements for the application/admission process:

  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Recent Photo
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Medical School Transcripts/Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/Dean’s Letter
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation
  • Passing USMLE Step 1 and Passing Scores on USMLE step 2CK, must be achieved by second attempt. Preferably on first attempt.
     

International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

If you are an International Medical Graduate, you will need to provide the following information/documentation to be considered for admission.

  • Clearly specify the details of visa status in the ERAS application, including dates and time limits of that status.
  • Valid ECFMG certification at or before the time of matriculation.
  • Clinical experience in the U.S. (hands-on experience preferred).
  • Command of the English language.
  • Must be ECFMG certified.
  • We only sponsor J1 visa through ECFMG. We do not sponsor H1 visa.
