Psychiatry Residency Program in Macon
Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Piedmont Macon Medical Center (previously known as Coliseum Medical Centers). The residents, faculty, and staff look forward to meeting you and sharing with you all we have to offer! We are a relatively new program focused on developing innovative and practical methods to deliver outstanding psychiatric care to the population of middle Georgia. We also value the importance of educating residents of the need to maintain work/life balance to establish a rewarding and meaningful career.
Our program offers many unique features that you may not find elsewhere including outpatient neurology and inpatient forensic psychiatry. We have also newly developed a clinic that focuses on the care of people experiencing homelessness.
I believe that the most important element of our program is our faculty and residents. From day one our faculty work closely with you as part of a team. Upper level residents are available to teach and guide new residents though the program.
Since the inception of our program, the majority of our graduates have remained in Macon. I believe this demonstrates the warm and welcoming character of the program and our city and I encourage you to learn more about our program!
Sincerely,
Leslie Tomek, MD
Program Director
